We are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in psychiatric and psychological consultant led health care based on current evidence based practice with emphasis on timely access and intervention to reduce psychiatric ailments.

The department was established in 2012 and currently comprises of 02 chambers with separate male and female sections. There are 27 beds, 11 male and 16 female.

Facilities: The Mission of the department is to provide highest quality services that are easily accessible and cost effective. To focus on reducing mental health issues that are common like Anxiety, Depression, Schizophrenia, and other psychiatric disorders. To Improve Delivery of Mental Health Services in this region of KPK.

Faculty: The department has nine (03) faculty members with one professor, one associate professor and one assistant professors. All dedicated to excellence in research and training of under and post graduate students.

Infrastructure: The department was established in 2012 and currently comprises of 02 chambers with separate male and female sections. There are 27 beds, 11 male and 16 female.

Trainings: The Psychiatry residency program at BKMC/MMC commenced in January 2023. At present there are 02 postgraduate MCPS trainees in the program which is approved by the College of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan.

Teaching and Research: We are committed for teaching and training of medical students throughout the five professionals of our undergraduate curriculum ensuring high quality education with ethics, empathy, team work, professionalism and integrity. In addition to teaching and patient care, the department is working hard to improve the research standards with ongoing research activities by postgraduate trainees and consultants.
