The IT Department of MTI Mardan was started in June 2017 upon the recruitment of Manager- IT. The current running system was traditional manual system, the main goal was to create & develop a complete robust paperless environment.

Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) is the backbone of any Healthcare facility, especially the teaching Hospital. The management of MTI MMC, Mardan has took initiatvie & develop a state-of-the-art "IT Centre" which is among one in KPK. A strong backbone of fiber optic infrastructure of 10 Gbps high speed has been laid down with LAN connectivity of 1 Gbps to end users and a backup Core-Fiber-Switches & Aggregation-Fiber-Switches at the main data center. All constituent institutes under the umbrella of Mardan MTI i.e. MMC, BBCH, BKMC, BKCD & CNM are connected through fiber optic with Main Data Center.

With the existing IT staff, the IT Department has developed several modules of HMIS; i.e Financial Receipts on all counters (A&E- MMC/CCH, OPD, IPD, Pathology, Radiology, Blood Bank, Surgeries & Procedures), Pharmacies (Medicine Stores, Fair Price Pharmacies MMC/BBCH), General Stores, Accounts & Finance (Pay Roll, Financial Receipts), Admission & Discharge- IPD module, Module for Covid-19 patients record, PCR Reporting Module, IBP Module, and SSP module.
