Biochemistry department BKMC was established in 2010.Departmental building is purpose built according to PMDC/PMC criteria. All the building is provided with good lighting, a modern heating / cooling system, and safety measures. It contains lecture theatres, a laboratory, SGD rooms for small group discussion, departmental Library, Offices for all faculty members and clerk; a store and waiting room for parents of student. White boards, multimedia, Computer and Printer are available.

The Department has a well equipped laboratory that contains all modern machines /equipments, reagents in quantity more than the number of students. Laboratory is well maintained by keeping regular checking and maintaining log books of all equipments. The department has a library for faculty members, provided with all text books and well known reference books.

Modern medical teaching has been directed into innovative and active way of learning, by adopting Modular System to reflect constructivist teaching approach rather than old behaviorist learning. Most of Faculty members have completed CHPE course from NUMS Islamabad. Our teaching is based on the principles of applying biochemical process to human body in health and disease. New innovation and research is specifically targeted. We have vision to do research work on biochemical/metabolic diseases in our locality.
