Chairman BoG Leads Inauguration of Advanced IT and Online Examination Centers at BKMC

Mardan: In a significant move toward institutional modernization, Professor Dr. Arshad Javed, Chairman of the Board of Governors (BoG) for the Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Mardan, officially inaugurated several high-tech facilities at Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC).

Accompanied by Board members Mr. Javed Kazim Siddiqui , Mr. Turab Ali Khan and Dr. Sabina Aziz, the Chairman unveiled the newly established Information Technology Center, a high-capacity Online Examination Center, and a dedicated OSCE & Viva Hall. The inauguration also featured the opening of separate, modern waiting areas for male and female students, designed to provide a comfortable and conducive environment during rigorous examination periods.

The ceremony was attended by key leadership, including Dean BKMC Professor Dr. Jawad Ahmed, Principal of Bacha Khan College of Dentistry Professor Dr. Munir Khan, and Director of Human Resources Abid ur Rehman. Members of the administrative and technical teams, including Internal Auditor Mushtaq, IT Manager Mohsin Ali, the Works Department team, and Software Engineer Maqsood ur Rehman, were also present to mark the milestone.

During the briefing, Dean Professor Dr. Jawad Ahmed highlighted that the IT Center is a cornerstone of the college’s strategy to achieve full digitalization. He emphasized that these facilities align the institution with global standards in medical education. Specifically, the OSCE Hall was developed to meet the strict regulatory requirements of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC). Chairman Arshad Javed added that providing such organized, dedicated spaces is essential for ensuring transparency and maintaining the high quality of medical assessments.

A primary focus of the event was the expansion of the Online Examination Hall. Dean Dr. Jawad Ahmed informed the Board that while the facility initially launched with 50 seats, the recent addition of 70 advanced workstations has increased the current capacity to 120. He further shared plans to acquire 40 additional computers in the near future, bringing the total capacity to 160. This expansion will enable the college to conduct large-scale digital examinations simultaneously. To further support student well-being, the college has also established separate prayer areas and lounges adjacent to the examination complex.

The Chairman and Board members commended the administration’s proactive efforts in rapidly scaling the college’s digital infrastructure and expressed their full support for the ongoing digital transformation of the institution.
