The Department of Information Technology (IT) at Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC) is mandated to plan, implement, and manage the institution’s IT infrastructure in alignment with regulatory standards and institutional strategic objectives. The department ensures the provision of secure, reliable, and scalable technological services to support academic, administrative, and clinical functions.
The department is responsible for the governance and operational management of network systems, enterprise applications, database administration, and hardware resources. It ensures uninterrupted connectivity, data integrity, system availability, and adherence to established information security protocols, thereby facilitating efficient institutional operations.
In support of medical education standards, the IT Department enables the deployment and maintenance of digital learning environments, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-library resources, and computer-based assessment systems. These services are designed to enhance teaching, learning, and evaluation processes in accordance with PM&DC guidelines.
The department also undertakes the development and implementation of customized software solutions to address institutional requirements, ensures the effective management of official web portals, and maintains comprehensive data management systems. Compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, data protection policies, and audit requirements is an integral component of its operations.
Through structured governance, continuous monitoring, and quality assurance mechanisms, the IT Department contributes to institutional effectiveness, transparency, and digital transformation, in line with national regulatory and accreditation standards.
