The Department of Biochemistry at Bacha Khan Medical College is hosting an academic seminar titled "DNA Extraction: From Cells to Molecules." This session is designed to provide a comprehensive look into the isolation of genetic material, a fundamental process in modern diagnostics and research.
The seminar will cover the four primary steps of DNA extraction: cell lysis, protein removal, DNA precipitation, and collection. Participants will also explore the clinical relevance of these techniques in fields such as genetic testing, forensic science, and disease diagnosis for cancer and infections.
The event features a presentation by Dr. Asmat Shaheen from the Department of Biochemistry, with guest speaking contributions from Professor Dr. Musharraf Jelani and the CEO/Dean of BKMC, Dr. Jawad Ahmad.
