Welcome to our Pathology Department! Which is a multidisciplinary department consisting of hematology, chemical pathology, microbiology and histopathology. Our department runs undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes. We take immense pride in nurturing and grooming our students to become future leaders in the field of pathology. With a strong emphasis on comprehensive education and practical experience, we strive to provide an enriching learning environment.

Our dedicated faculty members, who are renowned experts in the field, guide and mentor students at every step of their educational journey. We believe in fostering a collaborative and interactive learning atmosphere, encouraging students to engage in critical thinking, small group discussions and problem-solving.

Pathology department has also well equipped clinical lab which offers diagnostic and clinical services includingroutine blood tests, coagulation profiles, bone marrow aspirations, blood banking, serology, culture tests,molecular test and wide range of chemical tests.

Lab is also accredited by CPSP for postgraduate training; currently 3 residents are enrolled for hematology FCPS Trainingalong with multiple rotational TMOs from different specialties where they are exposed to a diverse range of pathological sciences, cutting edge research and state of the art technologies. Through rigorous training and hands-on laboratory sessions, we ensure that our students develop the necessary skills and expertise to excel in their careers We are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience that will equip our students with the skills and confidence to thrive in the dynamic field of pathology.

Departmental Goals:

→ Promote the development of investigative skills to better understood pathological processes as they apply to both individual patients and general patients population.

→ To get department recognized for postgraduate training for further fields like microbiology, histopathology and chemical pathology.

→ TTo further advance our specialized test. E.g. flow cytometer, Immunohistochemistry etc.

→ To participate in teaching & research programs of KMU, making the department as a creative and innovative centre of excellence.

→ To bridge basic and clinical sciences in the study, teaching and diagnosis of diseases.
